The Kitchen Manager role is a key leadership position within the school meal program, responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations at an assigned school site. This position holds the responsibility of managing food preparation, supervising kitchen staff, maintaining inventory, and ensuring full compliance with health and safety standards. As the Kitchen Manager, you will be the on-site leader driving efficient and effective service, maintaining impeccable cleanliness standards, and ensuring that every meal meets quality expectations. Beyond managing operations, this role focuses on training and developing team members to uphold company procedures and food safety regulations.
This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position with some extended weeks as needed. The position requires hands-on leadership with a strong emphasis on organizational skills and team management. Job Requirements

- ServSafe certification required or must be willing to obtain prior to start
- prior food service experience
- reliable transportation required
- ability to stand for full shift and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- must pass a background check and fingerprint screening
- comfortable working around children and within a school environment

Job Duties
- oversee all food production and service to meet quality, safety, and portion standards
- train and supervise kitchen staff on recipes, equipment safety, and sanitation
- prepare daily and weekly paperwork, reports, and schedules
- monitor inventory and ensure proper ordering, receiving, and storage of supplies
- maintain equipment cleanliness and report any repair needs
- enforce compliance with HACCP, health department regulations, and ServSafe standards
- manage labor and ensure schedules align with staffing and budget needs
