Job Description
Rosewood Market + Deli is a beloved, family-owned neighborhood market located in Columbia, South Carolina, that has been serving the local community since 1972. Known for its commitment to quality, freshness, and a wholesome approach to food, Rosewood Market has established itself as a trusted destination for natural and whole-food enthusiasts. The market prides itself on its strong community roots and dedication to providing excellent service alongside high-quality food products. As a longstanding institution in Columbia, Rosewood Market fosters a warm, welcoming atmosphere where customers feel like part of the family, and employees are valued members of the team.
The role of Kitchen Manager at Rosewood Market is a pivotal position that blends leadership with culinary expertise. This full-time opportunity offers an hourly wage ranging from $25.00 to $30.00 based on experience. The Kitchen Manager is entrusted not only with overseeing daily kitchen operations but also with embodying the ethos of Rosewood Market by ensuring that every dish prepared reflects the company’s commitment to quality, community, and natural ingredients. The role requires a dedicated leader who leads by example, motivates a team, sets high standards for food production and safety, and brings fresh ideas to the menu planning process.
As the head of the kitchen, the Kitchen Manager will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring consistent quality and presentation across all menu items, controlling costs through efficient ordering and inventory management, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. This role demands a detail-oriented individual who is able to thrive under pressure and communicate effectively. The Kitchen Manager reports directly to the Store Owner and the leadership team, working closely with other departments to support the overall success of Rosewood Market.
This position offers more than just a paycheck; it provides the chance to be part of a tight-knit team in a local, independent market with a rich history and a genuine passion for doing things the right way. There are no overnight shifts, as the kitchen closes at 3pm, and Sundays are closed, emphasizing a healthy work-life balance. Employees enjoy several valuable benefits, including paid time off, vision and dental insurance plans, a meaningful employee discount, and free shift meals. Most leadership roles within the market have grown from floor positions, so there is significant room for personal and professional growth within the company. If you are motivated by real food, quality standards, and community connection, this role offers a unique and rewarding career path.
