Job Description

Cooper's Hawk is a unique lifestyle brand combining a Napa-style tasting room with a wine-inspired retail experience and a full-service restaurant, bar, and private event space. Since its inception in 2005, Cooper's Hawk has been dedicated to bringing the Napa Valley experience to guests and Wine Club members through its award-winning wines and thoughtfully crafted scratch-kitchen menu items that perfectly complement those wines. Known for its modern-yet-casual dining atmosphere, the company also offers exclusive Wine Club memberships featuring curated dining and travel experiences, making it one of the world's largest and most celebrated wine clubs. Recently, Cooper's Hawk expanded its culinary offerings with Piccolo Buco by Cooper's Hawk, delivering the vibrant flavors of Rome to its clientele. Cooper's Hawk is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all team members can thrive.

As a Kitchen Manager at Cooper's Hawk, you will play a pivotal leadership role within a fast-paced, high-volume, scratch kitchen environment. This position requires close collaboration with the Executive Kitchen Manager to uphold culinary excellence and provide uncompromising hospitality to guests. You will be responsible for coaching and inspiring the kitchen team to ensure the highest standards of food quality and consistency while delivering a memorable guest experience. Your role includes overseeing one to two kitchen departments such as dish, prep, or line, and managing all culinary operations associated with new menu rollouts, kitchen initiatives, and private events like monthly Wine Club dinners.

This role demands a professional image and strict adherence to Cooper's Hawk culinary standards, including food safety and sanitation best practices. The Kitchen Manager utilizes various management tools such as POS systems, scheduling software, ordering and inventory systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite to maintain organization and operational efficiency. You will help hire, train, and develop hourly kitchen team members, foster collaboration between kitchen and front-of-house staff, and assist management in meeting restaurant goals. Emphasizing personal engagement and genuine communication, you will cultivate an inclusive kitchen culture and actively celebrate team successes to create an environment that inspires excellence.

The position requires candidates with supervisory experience in high-volume kitchen operations, preferably in scratch kitchens within full-service restaurant environments. Strong verbal and written communication skills, financial acumen, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite are essential. Certifications such as ServSafe and compliance with state and local licensing standards are preferred. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for at least 10 hours per shift, and work 50-60 hours weekly including flexible shifts encompassing weekends and some holidays.

Cooper's Hawk offers an attractive compensation and benefits package that supports team members' overall well-being and professional growth. Benefits include medical, prescription, dental, vision, and telehealth coverage; a 401(k) plan with company match; health and flexible spending accounts; disability insurance; paid parental leave; paid time off; wellness and mental health support; employee discounts; and various recognition and career development programs. This role is ideal for a motivated culinary professional eager to advance their career and contribute to a brand renowned for its exceptional guest experiences and profound commitment to quality and community.
