Texas Roadhouse is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Kitchen Manager to lead and oversee all Back of House operations within the restaurant. This role is a critical leadership position responsible for ensuring the consistent preparation and presentation of food products according to established recipes and procedures, while maintaining a high standard of quality and safety. The Kitchen Manager will handle purchasing, receiving, and inventory management, enforce food safety protocols, and control food and labor costs to maximize efficiency. Leadership skills are essential as the Kitchen Manager will manage the performance of Back of House staff, conduct training, provide coaching and constructive feedback, and contribute to the development of key employees, assistant managers, and hourly team members.

This full-time position offers an annual salary between $60,000 and $80,000, reflecting the significance of the role within the restaurant's operations. Responsibilities include supervising food preparation, ensuring compliance with employment policies, maintaining cleanliness and safety in the kitchen, directing production to meet efficient ticket times, and handling inventory with a focus on reducing waste. The Kitchen Manager will also oversee schedules, assign tasks, and assist with hiring decisions to maintain a skilled and cohesive team. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in kitchen management or food service supervision
  • Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation procedures
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage schedules and labor costs
  • Ability to conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in kitchen management or a similar food service supervisory role

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Culinary degree or certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervising and overseeing the production and preparation of food in a manner consistent with established recipes and procedures
  • In conjunction with all management, enforcing compliance with all employment policies and overseeing cleanliness of restaurant and safety of guests at all times
  • Directing productivity to monitor and maintain efficient and effective food item ticket times
  • Managing performance of Back of House employees, including conducting performance evaluations, coaching, and discipline
  • Assisting with the development of all key employees, assistant managers, and hourly employees by providing daily feedback on performance during one-on-ones
  • Conducting formal line Taste and Temp checks as part of overall responsibility for inventory and safety in the kitchen
  • Overseeing the proper handling, maintenance, and storage of all items
  • Understanding, managing, and practicing safe food handling procedures
  • Managing food costs, tracking waste, and controlling kitchen labor costs
  • Directing work for Back of House employees, including setting hours and weekly schedules, and assigning tasks before, during and after open hours of the restaurant
  • Training Back of House employees on equipment maintenance and cleaning procedures
  • Reviewing applications, interviewing, and hiring or making recommendation to hire Back of House employees
  • Creating a safe, fun, and clean work environment for the staff in a manner consistent with our core values and operational goals
