The role of Kitchen Manager/Head Cook at Bay Breeze Care is a critical position within the facility, responsible for managing the kitchen operations and ensuring that residents receive nutritious, delicious, and safe meals tailored to their dietary needs.   • Able to pass DOJ FBI live scan criminal background clearance mandated by Community Care Licensing
  • Able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience in an assisted living environment preferred
  • Flexible scheduling including availability for weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve food to residents in our community
  • Ensure all special dietary needs are met and preparing texture modified food as directed
  • Ensure compliance with all record keeping, food safety and risk management requirements
  • Train new kitchen aide and other staff on proper cooking routines and kitchen procedures
  • Follow facility menu and maintain portion control as directed by dietitian
  • Identify and develop new initiatives and areas of improvements to better serve our residents
  • Order, receive, verify and sign for groceries and deliveries
  • Maintain and appropriately handle facility food budgets
  • Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of all kitchen equipment and dining room utensils, informing Administrator of any challenges or safety hazards
  • Attend all monthly in-services and facility staff meetings obtaining proper documentation of each meeting or training
  • Be fully aware of individual resident likes, dislikes and health restrictions
  • Supervise food production for quality of products and service
  • Prepare and enforce daily, weekly and monthly kitchen cleaning schedules to maintain compliance with safety and health restrictions
