Job Description

Ben's Fast Food is a rapidly expanding delivery-first restaurant startup dedicated to making healthy food the most delicious and affordable option available. The company is built on the mission to help local communities live healthier and happier lives by providing nutritious, made-from-scratch meals that stand out in taste and quality. Ben's Fast Food has quickly become one of the highest-rated and most beloved restaurants in its neighborhoods, known for its commitment to excellence and community-focused values. The company operates high-volume kitchens that specialize in delivery and catering, blending innovation with culinary expertise to meet the growing demand for convenient, wholesome meals.

This full-time Kitchen Manager role at Ben's Fast Food is both hands-on and managerial, offering a unique balance of direct kitchen work and leadership responsibilities. The manager will actively participate in food preparation, order assembly, and kitchen maintenance, while also overseeing the kitchen team and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. The position focuses primarily on back-of-house activities in a fast-paced environment, requiring a manager who excels in speed, accuracy, and team coordination. Working 40-50 hours per week, the role offers significant growth potential, opening pathways to higher leadership roles within the company for those who demonstrate exceptional performance.

Extensive training is provided over 1-2 months to prepare the manager for all aspects of kitchen operations. This includes mastering company recipes, quality standards, equipment operation, inventory control, food safety, and staff management. Responsibilities encompass assembling meals, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, managing catering orders, scheduling and mentoring the team, and handling hiring and termination processes. The manager will also maintain clear communication lines between the kitchen staff and regional management, troubleshoot issues, and monitor customer feedback through online reviews.

Ben's Fast Food is committed to creating a supportive and mission-driven work environment. The company values employees who are passionate about living the mission of promoting health and joy, caring for their teammates and community, embracing personal and professional growth, and setting new standards for excellence in food and hospitality. With competitive pay starting at $26.00 per hour, comprehensive benefits including health and dental insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and free meals during shifts, this role is designed to attract motivated individuals eager to grow with a thriving startup. The company also encourages candidates with criminal records to apply, underscoring its inclusive hiring practices.

Training for this position will take place at a Ben's Fast Food kitchen in California, with travel, lodging, and training expenses covered by the company. After training, the manager will operate primarily from the Sacramento location. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals ready to commit to a dynamic environment and contribute meaningfully to a mission-first organization dedicated to transforming the fast food landscape.
