We are currently seeking a seasoned Kitchen Manager or Sous Chef to join our passionate culinary team and oversee all Back of House operations. This full-time role involves taking charge of purchasing, receiving, preparing, and presenting food products in accordance with established recipes and standards. As Kitchen Manager, you will play an integral role in ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely, consistently delivering high-quality dishes in a timely manner. The position requires excellent leadership skills to manage and train kitchen staff, develop working schedules, and maintain the highest standards for food safety and sanitation. You will also be instrumental in resolving any operational issues, supporting the General Manager with food preparation planning and directing, and objectively assessing staff performance.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing a high-volume kitchen environment, a comprehensive understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and kitchen procedures, and a demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure scenarios. Proficiency with industry-standard software such as MS Office, restaurant management tools, and Point of Sale systems like Toast POS is essential. Job Requirements

  • Education or training in culinary arts or related field preferred
  • Relevant experience managing kitchen staff in a busy restaurant environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a manager in a high-volume kitchen
  • Ability to command successful shifts through challenging situations
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
  • Demonstrate the ability to make quick, correct, and meaningful decisions in stressful situations
  • Familiar with industry's best practices
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, Toast POS)

Job Duties

  • Help in the preparation of all food
  • Produce high-quality plates both design and taste-wise
  • Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
  • Fill in the General Manager in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
  • Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, establish a working schedule, and assess staff's performance
  • Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
