The Assistant Café Leader role at Life Time plays a pivotal part in driving the success of the café operations within the facility. This position reports directly to the Café Leader and supports delivering exceptional guest experiences through effective team leadership and operational excellence. The Assistant Café Leader is responsible for overseeing daily café activities, ensuring adherence to hospitality standards, and coaching team members to perform their best. This role blends hands-on leadership with a strong focus on hospitality, food safety, and financial management, including labor and food cost control. In addition to guiding the team on service excellence, the Assistant Café Leader contributes to maintaining cleanliness, inventory management, and compliance with Life Time’s brand standards. The position requires someone passionate about guest engagement, team development, and operational precision in a fast-paced environment. It offers an hourly wage ranging from $21.50 to $28.75 depending on experience, with full-time opportunities entitled to a comprehensive benefits package. Job Requirements

  • Strong passion for hospitality, guest engagement, and team leadership
  • ability to lead by example and coach others in a fast-paced café environment
  • experience working with POS systems, food handling, and inventory processes
  • ability to lift up to 20 lbs repeatedly and perform physical tasks throughout shifts
  • strong communication and organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of leadership experience in a fast-casual or café setting
  • ServSafe Manager certification or equivalent
  • ServSafe Alcohol Safety or equivalent (if applicable)
  • CPR/AED certification
  • college degree in business, culinary arts, hospitality, or related field (preferred)
  • knowledge of food costing, scheduling, and basic profit and loss analysis (preferred)
  • experience leading team culture and driving sales through service (preferred)
  • ability to develop and implement service recovery or upselling strategies (preferred)
  • passion for creating a desirable, guest-centric café environment (preferred)

Job Duties

  • Leads day-to-day café operations with a focus on hospitality, service standards, and shift execution
  • coaches, trains, and motivates team members to deliver exceptional guest experiences and meet performance expectations
  • partners with the Café Leader to manage labor, food costs, inventory, and overall financial performance
  • supports hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of team members to create a strong, service-focused café culture
  • ensures all food safety, cleanliness, and Life Time brand standards are upheld on every shift
