The Kitchen Manager role at Ugly Grouper is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all restaurant kitchen operations. This individual will enthusiastically lead and motivate the Kitchen Crew to ensure that the highest quality food is consistently prepared and promptly served with great attention to detail. The Kitchen Manager works closely with the General Manager and Restaurant Manager to manage daily operational tasks including monitoring production output, controlling food costs, maintaining inventory, and adhering to food safety standards. This role requires someone with previous experience handling kitchen leadership duties, a strong ability to train and manage staff, and superb organizational skills.

As a Kitchen Manager, you will play an integral role in the restaurant’s success by assisting with recruitment, hiring, and training of new kitchen employees, as well as taking part in menu sales promotions to boost revenue. You will maintain proper food inventory levels and manage product pricing, while ensuring all sanitation and legal regulations are followed. Your proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration will foster a positive working environment and help maintain a safe, respectful, and efficient kitchen.   • previous responsibility as prep or line cook

  • valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Job Duties

  • Follow sanitation standards and procedures complying with legal regulations
  • assist the General Manager in overseeing restaurant operations P&L, monitoring production output and food costs
  • maintain ongoing proper food inventory levels and product pricing
  • follow company guidelines on vendor relationships
  • assist the Restaurant Manager in developing and implementing menu sales promotions and assure their success
  • assist the General Manager with recruiting and hiring of Kitchen Crew and Utility Staff
  • assist with ordering and maintenance of all food and paper inventories
  • assure that all safety and security procedures are followed within the restaurant
