Located in the dynamic heart of Manhattan’s Times Square, the iconic Row NYC hotel has recently undergone a $140+ million transformation, refurbishing all guest rooms and public spaces to elevate guest experiences to the next level. Situated adjacent to a collection of 24 Broadway theaters and near major attractions such as Restaurant Row, Jacob Javits Convention Center, Macy’s, Rockefeller Center, and the Empire State Building, Row NYC represents a vibrant hub for both leisure and business travelers. The hotel features 1,331 newly renovated guestrooms with diverse bedding layouts, including king, queen, double/double, and twin configurations, catering to a broad range of guest needs and preferences.

The Kitchen Manager role at Row NYC is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations to ensure the highest standards of food quality, safety, and service efficiency. This management role requires a hands-on approach to coordinating daily kitchen activities including supervising kitchen personnel, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, and supporting back-of-house organization. The Kitchen Manager will collaborate closely with culinary and food & beverage leadership to ensure consistent food preparation aligned with brand standards, operational budgets, and guest expectations.

As the leader of the kitchen team, the Kitchen Manager's responsibilities include maintaining labor and productivity standards, facilitating staff training and development, and managing inventory and waste control. Commitment to health and sanitation compliance and adherence to union guidelines are essential in this role. The position demands strong communication skills and the ability to respond effectively to operational challenges, contributing to a smooth and efficient kitchen environment that supports an exceptional guest experience.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 3 years of kitchen management experience in a similar hospitality environment
  • valid Food Handler Certification as required by local health authorities
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays
  • proficiency in inventory management and scheduling software
  • knowledge of health sanitation and food safety regulations
  • experience working with unionized staff preferred
  • ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Job Duties

  • Oversees all aspects of daily kitchen operations ensuring efficiency organization and consistency
  • supervises kitchen personnel and support staff within classification providing clear direction and support
  • ensures all food is prepared plated and executed in accordance with established recipes quality standards and presentation guidelines
  • manages prep production station readiness and service flow to maintain a smooth and efficient kitchen operation
  • monitors ticket times food quality and team communication during service to ensure consistency and performance
  • maintains a clean safe and well-organized kitchen environment at all times
  • ensures full compliance with health sanitation food safety and HACCP standards
