Job Description
Our organization is a dedicated provider of nutritious and satisfying meals within a school setting, committed to supporting the health and well-being of students across multiple educational sites. We understand the crucial role that proper nutrition plays in the development and academic success of children, which is why we are devoted to delivering high-quality school meals that meet stringent safety and quality standards. As a respected partner in the education community, we strive to create an environment where students can enjoy meals that are both wholesome and appealing, fostering a positive relationship with food from a young age.
We are currently seeking a Kitchen Manager to join our team and lead the daily operations of food service in one of our school cafeterias. This vital role places you at the heart of the school meal program, overseeing all aspects of kitchen management with a focus on safety, efficiency, staff development, and exceptional service delivery. As Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for managing food preparation and serving, ensuring all meals meet health and safety regulations, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and company policies. The position requires a capable leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a genuine passion for food service management.
In this full-time position, you will coordinate a team of kitchen staff, providing training on recipes, equipment safety, and sanitation standards. Your organizational skills will be essential as you manage inventory control, oversee ordering and receiving supplies, and maintain cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen equipment. The role also demands diligent attention to paperwork, including preparation of daily and weekly reports, schedules, food safety documentation, temperature logs, and cleaning schedules.
Your leadership will shape the overall atmosphere of the kitchen, inspiring staff to uphold company policies and deliver excellent food service to students daily. The position involves ensuring fair and consistent performance evaluations, proper labor management aligned with staffing and budget needs, and accurate cash handling procedures. Additionally, you will act as the on-site leader responsible for smooth kitchen operations, supporting the broader school community through your expertise and dedication.
Working as a Kitchen Manager with us is not just about managing meals; it's about making a meaningful impact in the lives of students and the community. We offer a supportive work environment that values teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, be comfortable working around children, and have reliable transportation to and from the school site. If you have experience in food service, particularly within school nutrition, and a commitment to fostering a safe, organized, and efficient kitchen, this opportunity is for you.
