Job Description
Golden Corral is a well-established American restaurant chain known for its buffet-style dining and diverse menu offerings that appeal to a broad range of guests. Operating numerous franchises across the United States, Golden Corral prides itself on providing high-quality food in a welcoming, family-friendly environment. Each franchise operates independently under experienced local ownership but adheres to the corporate standards that ensure quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction. As a leading player in the casual dining sector, Golden Corral is committed to offering career growth opportunities, employee development, and a supportive workplace culture. The company emphasizes training, sustainability, and maintaining high health and safety standards to deliver an exceptional dining experience to its customers. With a reputation built on solid operations and community involvement, Golden Corral franchises seek motivated and dedicated team members to join their leadership teams and contribute to ongoing success and growth.
The position of Kitchen Manager at Golden Corral offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with strong leadership skills and a passion for food service management. This role is primarily responsible for overseeing the back-of-the-house operations and food production, ensuring that all products, recipes, and cleanliness standards meet Golden Corral specifications. The Kitchen Manager plays a pivotal role in driving quality food preparation, managing food costs, maintaining food safety standards, and leading a team of kitchen and production staff members. In the absence of the General Manager and Hospitality Manager, the Kitchen Manager assumes full responsibility for the restaurant’s overall operations, including labor management and financial controls.
This role requires a balance of operational expertise, people management, and a strong commitment to maintaining the brand’s standards. The Kitchen Manager is expected to plan, schedule, and execute daily kitchen functions, train and coach kitchen staff through established training programs such as Fast Tracks and Safe Tracks, and ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations at all times. By maintaining inventory controls, managing preventive equipment maintenance, and fostering a team-oriented work environment, the Kitchen Manager contributes directly to the restaurant’s financial success and guest satisfaction.
Golden Corral values its employees and offers a comprehensive benefits package which includes flexible work schedules, clear and defined training programs, career advancement opportunities, free meals during shifts, and childcare benefits through the WeeCare Childcare Benefits Program. Additionally, employees can access medical, dental, and vision insurance, participate in a 401(k) retirement plan, and benefit from employee referral incentives. Notably, Golden Corral provides an Instant Pay option, allowing staff to access up to 50% of their earned wages before payday without fees or interest, providing financial flexibility and support.
This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $50,000 to $55,000 and is ideal for candidates with two to three years of management experience in a high-volume restaurant setting. Candidates should be prepared to obtain Certified Kitchen Manager certification within six months of employment. A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required, as the role may involve traveling within the local market. Golden Corral is an equal opportunity employer that encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply and contribute to an inclusive workplace. This opportunity is with a locally owned and operated franchisee, ensuring that hiring and employment decisions are managed at the local level, fostering close-knit team dynamics and personalized management attention.
