The role of Kitchen Manager at TGI Fridays is crucial in maintaining the high standards that the restaurant is known for. Job Requirements

  • College coursework with Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a restaurant manager preferred
  • Prior experience in purchasing and production
  • Previous kitchen experience preferred
  • Must be able to walk and stand throughout entire shift
  • Frequent bending and stooping required
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Must be able to hear well in loud environments
  • Must bring joy to the job that inspires others

Job Qualifications

  • College coursework with Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a restaurant manager with extensive knowledge of restaurant operations preferred
  • Prior experience in purchasing and production
  • Previous kitchen experience preferred
  • Superb communication skills

  • Ability to train and develop staff

  • Ability to manage inventory effectively

Job Duties

  • Manages operations during scheduled shifts including daily decision-making, staff support, guest interaction, scheduling, planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date manpower plan of staffing needs and prepares schedules to ensure proper staffing for all shifts
  • Staffs, trains and develops hourly team members through ongoing feedback, coaching, and performance reviews
  • Ensures all newly hired team members complete their training plans including required paperwork
  • Frequently interacts with guests to ensure the Fridays Service Style experience and follows up on issues and complaints
  • Follows the Bubble Theory to proactively run shifts and anticipate guest needs
  • Applies the Hamburger Stand Theory to setup the restaurant and staff for outstanding shifts
  • Monitors kitchen operations closely and addresses issues promptly and directly
  • Identifies operational opportunities to build sales and control costs and implements plans accordingly
  • Manages inventory efficiently and cost-effectively
  • Ensures food quality by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, storage, and sanitation
  • Coaches and develops talent within the kitchen team
  • Oversees purchasing, receiving, and storing of food products ensuring proper inspections, correct products, and par levels to minimize waste
  • Fosters open communication with kitchen and front-of-house staff
  • Acts as Manager on Duty in absence of the General Manager overseeing the entire restaurant operation
  • Ensures proper security procedures are in place to protect team members, guests, and company assets
