Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and thriving scratch kitchen restaurant as a Chef/Kitchen Manager. The establishment takes pride in operating a 100 percent scratch kitchen, emphasizing fresh, high-quality ingredients and culinary excellence. As a key player in this full-service restaurant, the Chef/Kitchen Manager will be an integral part of maintaining exemplary food and service standards while driving operational success.

The Chef/Kitchen Manager position involves overseeing all dining room and kitchen operations to ensure efficient and effective shifts. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of restaurant systems and the ability to lead and support assistant managers and team members in food preparation, safety, sanitation, and service standards. You will be responsible for coaching, training, and developing your team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and professionalism.

In this role, you will manage system execution, cost controls, staffing, scheduling, and inventory management to maintain optimal kitchen functionality and budget adherence. Communication is vital as you will interact regularly with the General Manager, local owner, vendors, guests, and the broader team to align goals and enhance operations. You will also oversee hiring processes and ensure compliance with safety procedures while maintaining a clean and well-stocked working environment.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • some college preferred
  • three to five years of high volume full-service restaurant management experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Knowledge of all dining room and kitchen systems and operation
  • provides direction, coaching, training and development for assistant managers and all team members including food quality, service standards, safety and sanitation, and company policies and procedures
  • ensures consistent execution of all systems, standards and cost controls
  • responsible for establishing and appropriately communicating goals to General Manager and Local Owner on a regular basis
  • communicates effectively with the guest, team members, management team, local owner, Station 5 team, and vendors
  • effectively maintains cleanliness of exterior and interior facilities and ensures sufficient supply levels for team members to execute their responsibilities
  • oversees BOH schedules, effectively maintaining staffing levels, labor goals and guest satisfaction
