The Kitchen Manager role is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing all kitchen activities and ensuring high standards of food preparation, inventory management, and staff coordination. This is a hands-on role that requires a balance of culinary expertise and strong leadership abilities. The Kitchen Manager will manage ordering supplies, scheduling shifts, monitoring inventory levels, and maintaining compliance with food safety regulations. This role also involves recruiting and training kitchen employees to uphold operational standards. The ideal candidate will have proven culinary skills coupled with significant experience in kitchen management. Excellent communication skills and organizational abilities are essential to lead the kitchen team in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an annual salary ranging from $55,000 to $70,000, reflecting the importance of the position within our establishment. Candidates must be prepared to work various shifts including day, night, morning, and evening shifts to ensure effective kitchen coverage.

As part of the Kitchen Manager's responsibilities, close collaboration with the restaurant management will be necessary to update menu pricing and modify items based on demand and cost analysis. This position demands meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving to maintain smooth kitchen operations and exceptional service quality. Candidates must be Serv Safe certified or willing to obtain certification through the company. Being bilingual in English and Spanish is a key requirement, supporting effective communication within our diverse kitchen staff. The Kitchen Manager will also be instrumental in maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment following all health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe workplace for the entire culinary team. Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Must be bilingual - able to speak Spanish
  • In-depth knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work well in a stressful and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict management abilities
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills
  • Serv Safe certified - if not, our company can proctor this
  • Driver's license
  • Availability to work day and night shifts

Job Duties

  • Order materials, supplies, and ingredients based on demand
  • Supervise kitchen employees and organize food orders
  • Oversee the food preparation and cooking process
  • Recruit and train kitchen employees in designated stations
  • Monitor inventory levels and perform weekly inventory assessments
  • Work with the restaurant manager to price and change menu items
  • Schedule work shifts for employees
  • Store all food products in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized
  • Maintain weekly and monthly cost reports
