The Kitchen Manager at Outback Steakhouse plays a pivotal role in leading and managing the back-of-house operations. This role is essential to maintaining the restaurant's high standards of food quality and kitchen efficiency. The Kitchen Manager is not only a supervisor but also a mentor and culture builder who inspires the kitchen team, known as Outbackers, to work collaboratively while maintaining enthusiasm and professionalism. Responsible for overseeing meal preparation, ensuring each dish meets the brand's quality standards, and managing kitchen operations, the Kitchen Manager ensures that the kitchen runs smoothly and cleanly in a fast-paced environment. The role involves close attention to food safety and sanitation standards, inventory management, and labor cost control through strategic scheduling and waste reduction. Additionally, the Kitchen Manager supports the General Manager with administrative tasks and contributes to cultivating a positive dining experience by occasionally engaging with guests on the floor. Job Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Minimum of 12 months experience in a leadership role within a restaurant setting
  • Valid food safety certification such as ServSafe or equivalent
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office for basic administrative tasks
  • Open availability to work various shifts including nights and weekends
  • A desire to grow within the company including potential relocation for advancement

  • Manage inventory and labor costs through smart scheduling and waste reduction
  • Step out into the dining room when needed to connect with guests and resolve any concerns
  • Support the General Manager in daily administrative duties and local community marketing efforts
  • Lead by example, maintaining high morale and professional standards during every shift
