Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain that has revolutionized the fast-food industry by offering responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made with wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Established as a leader and innovator, Chipotle operates over 2,000 restaurants across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. Unlike many large chains, Chipotle owns and operates all of its restaurants in North America and Europe, maintaining strict quality control and a consistent brand experience. The company is deeply committed to sustainable business practices, digital innovation, and making better food accessible to all customers. Its mission centers around cultivating a better world through food, supporting efforts to improve farming and food systems globally, and fostering a workplace culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food quality, teamwork, and customer experience. As a Kitchen Leader, you will be immersed in preparing exceptional food—grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and ensuring every dish meets Chipotle’s high standards for taste and safety. This role requires an individual who takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and properly stocked kitchen environment, who is proactive in addressing equipment maintenance and inventory management, and who can effectively support and develop crew members. Kitchen Leaders at Chipotle serve as role models on the team, fostering strong communication between back-of-house and front-of-house crew, helping to train future leaders, and consistently promoting Chipotle's Food With Integrity philosophy.
This position is more than just managing kitchen operations; it is about driving the overall success of the restaurant by ensuring an excellent customer experience through teamwork and attention to detail. The work is fast-paced and physically engaging, with Kitchen Leaders actively involved in cooking, prepping, and helping team members to meet and exceed daily goals. Positions are typically full-time or part-time with competitive pay ranging from $21.25 to $23.65 per hour, plus eligibility for digital tips and a comprehensive benefits package. Chipotle also supports professional growth, with approximately 80% of managers having started as crew members. Benefits include tuition assistance, free food, medical, dental, vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, and more.
By joining Chipotle as a Kitchen Leader, you become part of a company that prides itself on its commitment to better food, better communities, and better workplaces. This role is ideal for individuals looking to grow their skills in food preparation and team leadership within a supportive and dynamic environment. Chipotle values diversity and inclusivity, creating a workplace where every individual can thrive and contribute to the company’s mission. Qualified applicants receive reasonable accommodations to ensure equal access throughout the hiring process.
