The Kitchen Leader position is a vital role within the restaurant that blends culinary skill with leadership and operational responsibilities. As a Kitchen Leader, you will learn the culinary ropes by preparing delicious food, including grilling meats and sautéing vegetables, ensuring food quality and safety are top priority. This role involves not just food preparation, but actively managing kitchen stock levels, monitoring waste to optimize resources, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen. Beyond these tasks, the Kitchen Leader acts as a role model for crew members, mentoring and training them to become future leaders themselves. This fosters an empowered and skilled workforce where teamwork shines both in the kitchen and across the restaurant.

The position is fast-paced and demands a proactive attitude, multitasking skills, and a dedication to quality service. Kitchen Leaders are always on their feet, managing their station’s goals, taking the initiative to solve problems, and pitching in whenever help is needed. Leading by example, they support strong dynamics between back of house and front of house crews to ensure a smooth operation that ultimately leads to an excellent customer experience. Additionally, Kitchen Leaders are responsible for maintaining kitchen equipment, ensuring safety standards are rigorously followed to prevent injuries or accidents, and adhering to all regulatory guidelines including material safety data handling and inventory rotation.
