Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain that revolutionizes the traditional fast-food industry by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made with wholesome ingredients and without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Founded with a mission to cultivate a better world, Chipotle is dedicated to changing how people perceive fast food by offering an experience that combines speed with quality and sustainability. Operating over several locations across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle owns and operates all its restaurants in North America and Europe, distinguishing itself as a leader and innovator in the food industry. The company places a strong emphasis on food integrity, environmental responsibility, and creating a positive impact on the farming and food sectors, actively supporting efforts to shift the future of sustainable farming and better food accessibility for everyone.
The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle plays a crucial part in maintaining the high standards of food quality and safety that the brand is known for. As a Kitchen Leader, you will be immersed in learning and mastering the art of preparing delicious food, including grilling meats and sautéing vegetables, ensuring every dish served meets Chipotle's exacting standards. Beyond food preparation, this role is responsible for ordering supplies, managing inventory, and training crew members to become future Kitchen Leaders, fostering growth and leadership within the team.
As a key figure in the kitchen, the Kitchen Leader ensures that the food preparation areas are always clean, organized, and well-stocked, while also maintaining equipment in excellent working condition. Acting as a role model, this position promotes teamwork and excellent customer service by collaborating closely with both back-of-house and front-of-house crew members. The Kitchen Leader is constantly active on their feet, managing their station's goals, assisting teammates, and ensuring a safe and accident-free workplace through adherence to safety protocols and guidelines. This role entails monitoring food waste and quality, completing Material Safety Data Sheets, and following inventory rotation practices to maintain freshness and compliance.
The Kitchen Leader position at Chipotle is not only an opportunity to advance your culinary and leadership skills in a fast-paced environment but also a chance to be part of a company with a strong commitment to social responsibility and sustainability. Employees enjoy benefits such as tuition assistance, free meals, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, competitive pay, and promising opportunities for career advancement, with most management roles filled from within the crew. Joining Chipotle means becoming part of a values-driven, people-first organization that fosters inclusivity, diversity, and respect among all team members while shaping the future of food service with innovation and care.
