Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a leading fast-casual restaurant chain committed to cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food with wholesome ingredients free from artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Established as a pioneer in the fast-food industry, Chipotle has distinguished itself by prioritizing quality, sustainability, and ethical business practices. The company operates across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, making it one of the few restaurant companies of its size to own and operate all of its locations. Chipotle’s core mission is to make better food accessible to everyone, while continuously innovating in digital, technology, and sustainable operations. The company values passionate employees dedicated to delivering an outstanding guest experience and fostering an inclusive workplace where all individuals can thrive regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, or other protected characteristics.

The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle is a unique opportunity for individuals seeking to grow their culinary and leadership skills within a dynamic and supportive environment. As a Kitchen Leader, you will learn how to prepare high-quality food, including grilling meats and sautéing vegetables, ensuring that all dishes meet Chipotle’s high standards of taste and quality. This position involves overseeing kitchen operations, ordering and managing food inventory, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and acting as a role model for crew members by training and developing them to become future Kitchen Leaders. A Kitchen Leader supports a strong team dynamic between back-of-house and front-of-house staff and plays a critical role in promoting teamwork to enhance customer satisfaction.

This full-time role demands a hands-on approach, with Kitchen Leaders actively engaging in daily food preparation, monitoring food waste, resolving quality issues, and ensuring kitchen equipment is well maintained and promptly repaired when necessary. Additionally, you will be responsible for compliance with safety and sanitation protocols, including accurate completion of Material Safety Data Sheets and Inventory Rotation procedures. Chipotle offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including tuition assistance, free food, medical, dental, and vision insurance, digital tips, paid time off, and holiday closures. The company also emphasizes career growth, with 80 percent of managers having started as crew members. By joining Chipotle as a Kitchen Leader, you become part of a values-driven, people-first company shaping the future of fast food and sustainable farming practices, all while cultivating your professional development in a supportive environment.
