The Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle represents an integral part of this mission by ensuring that every food item prepared meets the company’s high standards for quality and safety. This is a hands-on leadership position that involves preparing great food, grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and overseeing the kitchen environment to maintain cleanliness, organization, and equipment maintenance. As a Kitchen Leader, you will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of the back of house, balancing the need for speed with precision to deliver a great customer experience. You will order supplies, monitor food waste and inventory levels, and address any food quality issues promptly. This leadership role requires effective communication with both crew members and customers to foster a positive, team-oriented environment that drives operational excellence.

This full-time position offers competitive pay ranging from $16.35 to $18.19 per hour, along with digital tips and a robust benefits package. Job Duties

  • Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
  • monitoring food waste and inventory levels and resolving food quality issues
  • supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house crew and front of house crew
  • developing crew members to be future kitchen leaders
  • communicating with crew members and customers effectively in order to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
  • ensuring that the kitchen itself and all crew members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
  • filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
