Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain that is passionately committed to cultivating a better world through food. Established with a forward-thinking approach, Chipotle challenges the norms of traditional fast food by focusing on responsibly sourced, classically cooked meals made from real, wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. With locations throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle stands out as a global leader in the food industry by owning and operating all its North American and European restaurants, ensuring consistent quality and control over its operations.

Chipotle’s mission extends beyond just serving delicious food; it is an integral part of their vision to revolutionize the fast-food experience by advancing sustainable farming, responsible sourcing, and protection of the environment. Their Food With Integrity philosophy underpins every aspect of the business, driving initiatives that promote better food accessibility while maintaining ethical standards across supply chains. Chipotle fosters an inclusive and supportive work environment where every employee is valued and given opportunities to grow and excel.

The Kitchen Leader position at Chipotle is a dynamic role that plays a central part in maintaining the high standards for food quality and safety while contributing to an outstanding customer experience. As a Kitchen Leader, you will be trained to prepare flavorful meals by cooking and grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and managing food prep to meet stringent quality controls. Beyond food preparation, this role entails managing kitchen operations such as inventory monitoring, reducing food waste, ensuring kitchen cleanliness, and equipment maintenance. As a leader, you will also mentor and train crew members to develop their skills and prepare them for future leadership roles within the company.

The role calls for a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, capable of multitasking and supporting a strong team dynamic between the back-of-house and front-of-house crews. Kitchen Leaders help create a positive atmosphere both within the team and for guests, ensuring efficient communication, workplace safety, and adherence to Chipotle’s guidelines and procedures. This position is vital to fostering teamwork and consistency that allows Chipotle to maintain its reputation as a pioneer in the fast-casual dining segment.

Chipotle offers competitive base pay for Kitchen Leaders ranging approximately from $21.25 to $23.65 per hour, which is complemented by digital tips based on individual and team performance. The company also provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, and tuition assistance covering 100% of select degrees or up to $5,250 per year. In addition, employees enjoy perks like free food during shifts, opportunities for career advancement—with 80% of managers having started as crew—and a commitment to work-life balance.

As part of Chipotle’s dedication to inclusion and fairness, they are an equal opportunity employer that embraces diversity across all levels of the organization. Employees and applicants from all backgrounds are welcomed and treated with respect, with accommodations made for individuals with disabilities to ensure full participation in all hiring processes. Joining Chipotle means becoming part of a values-driven culture focused on nurturing talent, supporting communities, and cultivating a more sustainable future through better food choices and leadership within the restaurant industry.
