Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain that has revolutionized the concept of fast food by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food using wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. With an expansive presence across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle remains unique among its peers by owning and operating all its restaurants in North America and Europe. The company is recognized for its commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation, continually leading the food industry in digital, technological, and sustainable business practices. Chipotle’s mission is to make better food accessible to everyone while cultivating a better world through conversations and direct support of efforts to transform farming and food systems.

Chipotle is currently seeking passionate individuals to join their team as a Kitchen Leader. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the quality and safety of Chipotle’s delicious food remains unmatched every day. As a Kitchen Leader, you will gain hands-on experience in food preparation, including grilling meats and sautéing vegetables, ensuring all food served meets the highest standards of quality and flavor. In addition to food preparation, this role includes responsibilities such as ordering inventory, training and developing future Kitchen Leaders, and maintaining an organized, clean, and well-stocked kitchen environment. The Kitchen Leader acts as a role model for crew members, fostering a team-oriented atmosphere focused on delivering an exceptional customer experience. The position requires being active and efficient throughout shifts, meeting station goals, and pitching in wherever necessary to support teammates.

The Kitchen Leader plays a crucial part in monitoring kitchen operations, including equipment maintenance and safety compliance, to promote a safe, injury-free workplace. The role involves daily cleaning and sanitization of kitchen areas, meticulous management of food waste and inventory levels, and the filling out of necessary documentation such as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO) logs. Communication is key in this role as Kitchen Leaders interact with both back-of-house and front-of-house crew members and customers, ensuring smooth service throughput and strong team dynamics. With a salary range of $16.15 to $17.95 per hour plus eligibility for digital tips, this position offers competitive compensation in a people-first company that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Chipotle supports its employees with a comprehensive benefits package that includes tuition assistance (covering up to 100% for select degrees or up to $5,250 per year), free meals during shifts, medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, and more. The company also emphasizes career growth opportunities, with about 80% of managers having started as crew members, indicating a strong culture of internal promotion and development. Chipotle actively encourages all qualified applicants to apply, fostering an inclusive environment that supports individuals with disabilities by providing reasonable accommodations during the hiring process.
