The Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle Mexican Grill offers an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of this industry transformation. Working as a Kitchen Leader, you will engage in preparing delicious food that meets Chipotle's high standards, including grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and ensuring all menu items are cooked and presented perfectly. Your responsibilities extend beyond cooking to include managing kitchen inventory, maintaining food quality, ensuring the kitchen is clean and organized, and supporting the maintenance of kitchen equipment. You will act as a role model and mentor to Crew members, training and developing them to become future Kitchen Leaders within the company. With a strong focus on collaboration, teamwork, and customer satisfaction, the Kitchen Leader ensures excellent communication between back of house and front of house teams to deliver an outstanding dining experience for customers.
This leadership position is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring the ability to multitask while upholding safety, cleanliness, and food safety standards. You will take on supervisory duties such as filling out Material Safety Data Sheets and managing inventory rotation to minimize waste. Job Duties
- Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
- Monitoring food waste and inventory levels and resolving food quality issues
- Supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house Crew and front of house Crew
- Developing Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders
- Communicating with Crew members and customers effectively in order to ensure great customer service and throughput
- Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
- Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
- Ensuring that the kitchen itself and all Crew members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
- Filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
