The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle presents an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of this mission. As a Kitchen Leader, you will be instrumental in executing the preparation of great food, mastering essential culinary skills such as grilling meats and sautéing vegetables, and ensuring that every dish meets Chipotle’s high standards for taste and quality. Beyond food preparation, this role carries leadership responsibilities including ordering inventory, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, ensuring equipment is in proper working order, and training the next generation of Kitchen Leaders.

Kitchen Leaders embody the spirit of teamwork and customer-focus, serving as role models for crew members both in the front and back of house. They play a crucial role in maintaining operational excellence by ensuring food safety, minimizing waste, and fostering a positive work environment where collaboration flourishes. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation ranging from $16.15 to $17.95 per hour, supplemented by digital tips and a comprehensive benefits package. Chipotle also offers tuition assistance, covering 100% of select degrees or up to $5,250 per year, free meals, and paid time off, among other perks. Job Duties

  • Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
  • monitoring food waste and inventory levels and resolving food quality issues
  • supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house Crew and front of house Crew
  • developing Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders
  • communicating with Crew members and customers effectively in order to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
  • ensuring that the kitchen itself and all Crew members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
  • filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
