Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned restaurant company committed to cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food using wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Established as a leader and innovator in the fast-casual dining sector, Chipotle operates restaurants across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. Uniquely, it owns and operates all its locations in North America and Europe, ensuring consistent quality and customer experience. The company emphasizes a people-first approach, fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion at all organizational levels. Chipotle's dedication extends beyond food, focusing also on digital advancement, technology, sustainable business practices, and supporting future efforts in farming and food production.

As a Kitchen Leader at Chipotle, you will take on a vital role responsible for maintaining the high standards that define the brand's food quality and customer satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to learn essential culinary skills such as grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and proper food preparation. You will ensure that the kitchen is clean, organized, and well-stocked, while also overseeing equipment maintenance to maximize efficiency and safety. Beyond cooking, the role involves team leadership by training and developing crew members to become future Kitchen Leaders. You will act as a key role model, fostering a collaborative environment between front-of-house and back-of-house staff, which enhances overall customer service and operational throughput.

Working as a Kitchen Leader means promoting Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy by ensuring every meal served is not only delicious but also meets safety and quality standards. Daily responsibilities include monitoring inventory and food waste, managing kitchen hygiene, and communicating effectively with both crew and customers. The position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, such as addressing any equipment issues swiftly to avoid disruptions. Kitchen Leaders actively contribute to maintaining a safe workplace by following safety guidelines and filling out critical documentation like Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO).

Chipotle values individuals who bring a passion for quality food and teamwork. As a Kitchen Leader, you will be part of a fast-paced environment requiring constant movement, situational awareness, and multitasking. This role also offers a competitive salary ranging from $18.20 to $20.26 per hour depending on experience and education, in addition to digital tips and a robust benefits package. If you have a high school diploma and prior restaurant experience, thrive in dynamic settings, and appreciate Chipotle’s mission for better food and community tradition, this role presents a meaningful career path with opportunities for advancement where 80% of managers started as crew members. Join Chipotle to not just build culinary skills, but to shape the future of fast food by contributing to an inclusive, innovative, and sustainable dining experience.
