The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle is a dynamic and hands-on position designed for those passionate about food quality, leadership, and teamwork. As a Kitchen Leader, you will be responsible for preparing delicious and safe food in accordance with Chipotle’s rigorous kitchen procedures. This role involves grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and ensuring that the kitchen maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and equipment maintenance. The Kitchen Leader plays a key role in managing inventory, monitoring food waste, and resolving any food quality issues promptly. Beyond operational responsibilities, this position serves as a mentor for Crew members, guiding and training them to become future Kitchen Leaders, thus contributing to their personal and professional growth. Job Requirements

  • Have a high school diploma
  • Have restaurant experience
  • Have the ability to understand and articulate Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy
  • Have the knowledge and ability to speak, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior restaurant experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills in the primary language(s) of the work location
  • Ability to understand and articulate Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy
  • Proven leadership or team supervision experience a plus
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation practices

Job Duties

  • Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
  • Monitoring food waste and inventory levels and resolving food quality issues
  • Supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house Crew and front of house Crew
  • Developing Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders
  • Communicating with Crew members and customers effectively to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair and making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
  • Ensuring that the kitchen itself and all Crew members meet necessary guidelines to prevent injuries or accidents
  • Filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
