The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle is a dynamic, hands-on opportunity that offers the chance to develop food preparation skills, including grilling meats and sautéing vegetables, while upholding the company’s high standards for food quality and safety. The Kitchen Leader is responsible not only for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment but also for ensuring that all kitchen equipment is well-maintained and operational. This position guides and supports Crew members by setting a positive example, coaching them to become future Kitchen Leaders themselves, and promoting teamwork between front-of-house and back-of-house teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, taking initiative to address tasks proactively while consistently prioritizing customer satisfaction. The Kitchen Leader oversees inventory management, food waste monitoring, and compliance with health and safety regulations, including filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and following proper inventory rotation methods. Job Duties

  • Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order, and following kitchen procedures
  • Monitoring food waste and inventory levels, and resolving food quality issues
  • Supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house Crew and front of house Crew
  • Developing Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders
  • Communicating with Crew members and customers effectively in order to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair
  • making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
  • Ensuring that the kitchen itself and all Crew members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
  • Filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
