Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain dedicated to cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made with wholesome ingredients free of artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. With a presence in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle stands out as the only restaurant company of its scale that both owns and operates all its outlets across North America and Europe. Chipotle is a brand built on passion, innovation, and leadership in the food industry, aiming to make better food accessible to everyone while championing sustainable business practices, technology advancements, and a superior digital experience for its customers.
At Chipotle, food served fast doesn’t mean compromising quality or the customer experience. The company is committed to changing the fast-food paradigm by fostering conversations and actions that support the future of farming and food. Chipotle promotes teamwork, inclusivity, and ongoing learning to create an environment where every team member can thrive. As part of this mission, the organization is seeking Kitchen Leaders who will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of food quality and safety, coaching their teams, and enhancing the overall dining experience.
The Kitchen Leader at Chipotle is more than just a cook; they are an engaged leader responsible for ensuring each meal meets Chipotle’s stringent quality and safety standards. This role involves hands-on preparation of food, grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and managing the kitchen’s day-to-day operations including inventory, waste control, cleanliness, and equipment maintenance. The Kitchen Leader acts as a mentor and role model to Crew members, helping them develop the skills needed to advance into leadership roles themselves. They foster a positive team dynamic between back-of-house and front-of-house staff, always supporting the company’s commitment to food integrity and customer satisfaction.
This is a dynamic, fast-paced position for individuals who enjoy leadership challenges and thrive on teamwork. Kitchen Leaders contribute directly to creating an exceptional customer experience by ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety in every aspect of kitchen operations. The role offers valuable opportunities for personal growth and advancement, with Chipotle’s proven track record of promoting from within—eighty percent of its managers began their careers as Crew members. Compensation is competitive, and the company supports its employees with comprehensive benefits and educational assistance.
