As a Kitchen Leader at Chipotle, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. This position is designed for those passionate about food quality, teamwork, and customer satisfaction. The Kitchen Leader is responsible for preparing great food by cooking and grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and ensuring every dish served meets Chipotle’s high standards. Beyond food preparation, this leadership role involves ordering supplies, maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization, monitoring equipment maintenance, and supporting health and safety guidelines to prevent injuries or accidents. The Kitchen Leader serves as a role model, training and mentoring Crew members to develop their skills and prepare them for future leadership opportunities within the kitchen team. This position is highly interactive, requiring effective communication between back-of-house and front-of-house teams to ensure a smooth workflow and excellent customer service. On shift, Kitchen Leaders are continuously engaged, working on their stations, taking initiative to complete necessary tasks, and assisting teammates to maintain a dynamic and efficient kitchen environment. Job Duties
- Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
- Monitoring food waste and inventory levels and resolving food quality issues
- Supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house Crew and front of house Crew
- Developing Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders
- Communicating with Crew members and customers effectively in order to ensure great customer service and throughput
- Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
- Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
- Ensuring that the kitchen itself and all Crew members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
- Filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
