Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a pioneer in the fast-casual dining industry, known for its commitment to serving responsibly sourced, authentic, and fresh food. Founded on the principle of providing real food made from wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives, Chipotle has evolved into a socially conscious brand with a mission to cultivate a better world. Operating restaurants across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle stands out as the only restaurant company of its size to own and operate all its locations in North America and Europe. This ownership model allows the company to maintain high standards of quality, consistency, and customer experience in every restaurant.

Rooted deeply in sustainability and ethical business practices, Chipotle actively supports initiatives to transform the future of farming and food, making it a leader not just in the food industry but also in digital innovation and environmental stewardship. As a people-first company, Chipotle values diversity and inclusion, fostering a culture where all employees feel valued and empowered. The company prides itself on creating opportunities for growth and advancement. In fact, 80 percent of its managers began their careers as Crew members, showcasing the company's dedication to internal development.

The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle is a dynamic and influential position within the restaurant team. The Kitchen Leader is primarily responsible for ensuring the preparation of delicious, high-quality food that aligns with Chipotle's Food With Integrity philosophy. This role involves hands-on cooking, including grilling meats and sautéing vegetables, and requires meticulous attention to kitchen procedures to maintain food safety and quality. Beyond cooking, the Kitchen Leader manages inventory and monitors food waste, ensuring an efficient and cost-effective operation.

Additionally, the Kitchen Leader acts as a mentor and role model for other Crew members, training and developing them to step into leadership roles. This position promotes teamwork by fostering strong collaboration between the back-of-house and front-of-house teams, enhancing the overall customer experience. The leader maintains a clean, organized kitchen environment, oversees equipment maintenance, and ensures health and safety guidelines are rigorously followed to prevent accidents and injuries.

Working as a Kitchen Leader at Chipotle means being active and engaged, always on your feet and contributing wherever needed to meet daily goals. It is a fast-paced position that requires excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and customers, ensuring smooth service and satisfaction.

Chipotle offers a comprehensive benefits package to support its employees, including tuition assistance for select degrees, free meals during shifts, medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, and competitive compensation. The company’s emphasis on development and inclusiveness makes it a rewarding workplace for those passionate about quality food and meaningful work. Joining Chipotle as a Kitchen Leader offers the chance to be part of a forward-thinking company dedicated to cultivating a better world through food, sustainability, and community engagement.
