The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of maintaining high food quality and safety standards while inspiring and training team members to grow into future leaders. In this capacity, individuals will learn essential culinary skills such as grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and preparing food to order following established kitchen procedures. Kitchen Leaders play a vital role in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper equipment maintenance. The position involves active multitasking on your feet, effective communication with both crew and customers, as well as fostering a cohesive team environment between front-of-house and back-of-house staff.

Chipotle offers a competitive pay range of $16.35 to $18.19 per hour, which may vary depending on individual experience, skills, and education, supplemented by eligible digital tips. The company supports employee growth through tuition assistance programs covering up to 100% of select degrees or up to $5,250 per year. Job Requirements

  • Have the ability to understand and articulate Chipotle's Food With Integrity philosophy
  • Have the knowledge and ability to speak, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location
  • Have restaurant experience

Job Duties

  • Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
  • Monitoring food waste and inventory levels and resolving food quality issues
  • Supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house Crew and front of house Crew
  • Developing Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders
  • Communicating with Crew members and customers effectively in order to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair and making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
  • Ensuring that the kitchen itself and all Crew members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
  • Filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
