Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a renowned fast-casual restaurant company that is transforming the fast-food industry by prioritizing responsibly sourced, high-quality food prepared with real ingredients and no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Founded in 1993, Chipotle has grown to become a leader and innovator in the food industry, operating restaurants across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. Unlike many other restaurant chains, Chipotle owns and operates all of its restaurants in North America and Europe, allowing it to maintain stringent control over food quality, customer experience, and sustainable business practices. The company is dedicated to cultivating a better world through its Food With Integrity philosophy, which emphasizes supporting sustainable agriculture, ethical farming, and making better food accessible to everyone. Chipotle is passionate about creating a positive work culture that champions diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels.

The Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle plays a pivotal part in maintaining the company's high standards for food quality and safety while fostering teamwork and leadership within the kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Leader, you will gain hands-on experience preparing Chipotle's delicious menu items, from grilling meats to sautéing fresh vegetables, ensuring each dish meets the company's strict quality criteria. You will be responsible for monitoring food inventory and waste, managing kitchen equipment, and ensuring the workspace is clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations. Moreover, you will serve as a mentor and role model to Crew members, training and developing them into future Kitchen Leaders. This leadership position requires effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both back-of-house and front-of-house teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

In addition to these responsibilities, the Kitchen Leader is also charged with upholding Chipotle's commitment to food safety by completing necessary documentation such as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and following inventory rotation guidelines (FIFO). The role is fast-paced and requires physical stamina, as Kitchen Leaders are actively engaged on their feet during shifts, managing their stations and pitching in wherever needed to support team success. Chipotle provides competitive compensation and benefits for this role, including tuition assistance, medical and dental insurance, digital tips, paid time off, and opportunities for career advancement. Working at Chipotle means becoming part of a mission-driven company that values innovation, sustainability, and community engagement, all while offering a dynamic and supportive work environment for developing your culinary and leadership skills.
