Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain dedicated to cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made with wholesome ingredients free from artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Founded with the vision of transforming the typical fast-food experience, Chipotle has distinguished itself by prioritizing food integrity, sustainability, and innovation within the food industry. With restaurants located across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle remains one of the largest restaurant companies globally that fully owns and operates its locations in North America and Europe. The company fosters a people-first culture, emphasizing diversity, equity, and inclusion among its team members, all while advancing its mission to make better food accessible to everyone.
The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle offers an exciting opportunity to be part of this mission by ensuring that every meal prepared in the kitchen meets the highest standards of quality and safety. As a Kitchen Leader, you will hone your culinary skills by learning how to prepare exceptional food, from grilling meats to sautéing fresh vegetables, all while maintaining Chipotle's commitment to food made with integrity. This role is pivotal in creating a welcoming and efficient kitchen environment, where cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food safety protocols are paramount.
Beyond food preparation, the Kitchen Leader serves as an essential team leader and mentor, training and developing crew members to become future Kitchen Leaders themselves. You will cultivate a strong team dynamic by effectively communicating with both back-of-house and front-of-house crew members, ensuring seamless kitchen operations and excellent customer service. On the job, you must be proactive, managing food waste and inventory, maintaining kitchen equipment in good repair, and ensuring compliance with safety standards to prevent accidents.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role that requires dedication, teamwork, and a passion for culinary excellence. The position is hourly paid with a base pay range of $21.25 to $23.65 per hour along with eligibility for digital tips. Chipotle complements competitive compensation with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees' well-being and professional growth. Benefits include tuition assistance covering up to 100% for select degrees or up to $5,250 annually, free food during shifts, medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, and ample opportunities for career advancement within the company. As an employer that values diversity and inclusiveness, Chipotle strongly encourages applicants from all backgrounds, including those with disabilities who may require reasonable accommodations during the hiring process.
