Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain dedicated to cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made with wholesome ingredients free from artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Established as a leader and innovator in the food industry, Chipotle operates in multiple countries including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, with full ownership and operation of its restaurants in North America and Europe. With a strong commitment to sustainability, digital innovation, and creating accessible, better food options for everyone, Chipotle is more than just a restaurant–it is a purpose-driven brand focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences while championing diversity, equity, and inclusion within its workforce. As a people-first company rooted in core values, Chipotle encourages applicants from all backgrounds and provides reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities, ensuring an inclusive hiring process.

The Kitchen Leader position at Chipotle is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food quality, leadership, and teamwork. This role is central to the restaurant’s mission of delivering delicious, high-quality meals quickly and efficiently while upholding the company’s Food With Integrity philosophy. Kitchen Leaders are instrumental in preparing great food by cooking, grilling, and sautéing with precision, ensuring every meal meets Chipotle’s rigorous standards. Beyond food preparation, the role involves ordering ingredients, managing inventory, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the kitchen environment. The Kitchen Leader acts as a role model and mentor for crew members, guiding and training them to develop skills necessary for future leadership roles in the kitchen.

On any given shift, a Kitchen Leader is on their feet, supporting and coordinating the back-of-house and front-of-house teams to maintain smooth kitchen operations and excellent customer service. Their responsibilities extend to monitoring kitchen equipment, ensuring it is well-maintained and quickly repairing any malfunctions to avoid disruptions. Safety and sanitation are top priorities, with strict adherence to guidelines that prevent accidents and maintain a clean environment.

Chipotle offers competitive pay for the Kitchen Leader role with a base salary ranging from $21.25 to $23.65 per hour, supplemented by digital tips. Additionally, the company provides a robust benefits package that includes tuition assistance covering up to 100% for select degrees or up to $5,250 per year, free meals during shifts, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage, paid time off, holiday closures, and numerous opportunities for career advancement. Notably, 80% of Chipotle’s managers started as crew members, highlighting the company’s dedication to internal growth and employee development.

Joining Chipotle as a Kitchen Leader means becoming part of a forward-thinking team that values collaboration, quality, and responsibility—not just in food but also in workplace culture and social impact. It is an ideal role for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a passion for culinary arts, and are eager to lead and inspire others.
