Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain that is dedicated to cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made from wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Founded on a mission to change the face of fast food, Chipotle has introduced a unique approach to dining where food served quickly does not mean compromising on quality or experience. With locations throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle is distinguished as the only restaurant company of its size that owns and operates all its restaurants in North America and Europe. This operational approach enables Chipotle to control the quality of its product and customer experience consistently across markets. Chipotle is not only a leader in the food service industry but also a pioneer in digital technology and sustainable business practices, consistently setting industry standards for responsible growth and corporate social responsibility.

The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle is a dynamic and critical position that blends hands-on food preparation expertise with leadership responsibilities. The Kitchen Leader is primarily responsible for ensuring the highest quality and safety standards in food preparation, including grilling meats and sautéing vegetables to perfection. Beyond culinary skills, this role involves managing kitchen operations to guarantee a clean, well-organized, and well-stocked environment, which is essential for smooth restaurant function and customer satisfaction. Kitchen Leaders also take on the responsibility of training and developing crew members, preparing them to become future leaders within the kitchen team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, teamwork, and excellence.

This role requires constant engagement and adaptability, with Kitchen Leaders actively participating in daily food preparation tasks while also monitoring inventory, minimizing food waste, and ensuring all kitchen equipment operates effectively and safely. They act as role models by demonstrating best practices, encouraging teamwork between back-of-house and front-of-house staff, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Kitchen Leaders also communicate efficiently with crew members and customers to maintain a positive work environment and enhance overall customer service. This position offers opportunities for career advancement within Chipotle, as 80% of managers began their careers as crew members.

Chipotle provides its Kitchen Leaders with competitive compensation and robust benefits, including tuition assistance, free meals, medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage, paid time off, holiday closures, and opportunities for professional growth. The company cultivates a diverse and inclusive workplace, committed to equity and accessibility, welcoming applicants from all walks of life and providing accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act where needed. Joining Chipotle as a Kitchen Leader means becoming part of a forward-thinking company dedicated to making better food accessible to everyone while continuously evolving and shaping the future of fast food industry standards.
