Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a leading fast-casual restaurant chain known for cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made with wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Established with a commitment to food with integrity, Chipotle operates restaurants not only across the United States but also in Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. Unlike many other chains, Chipotle is unique in that it owns and operates all of its restaurants in North America and Europe, providing consistent quality and customer experience. With a strong brand presence, the company focuses on sustainable business practices, digital innovation, and continuing to make better food accessible to a wide audience. Chipotle’s team is composed of employees passionate about providing excellent guest experiences and fostering a culture rooted in diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle is a dynamic, hands-on position requiring someone who is dedicated to maintaining the highest food quality and safety standards. This role is critical in ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly, food is prepared deliciously, and customers receive the best experience possible when they visit the restaurant. The Kitchen Leader’s responsibilities go beyond simply cooking; they act as role models for crew members by training and developing future leaders within the kitchen. They oversee food prep, grill meats, sauté vegetables, manage inventory, and maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization. Furthermore, they ensure equipment is maintained and any malfunctions are addressed swiftly to avoid disruptions.

A Kitchen Leader embraces teamwork and fosters strong communication between back-of-house and front-of-house crew members, helping the entire team contribute positively to the customer experience. The role requires being actively engaged on the floor, managing food quality and waste, and ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines — all while supporting the company’s Food With Integrity philosophy. This position represents an exciting opportunity to grow within a forward-thinking company that values learning, evolving, and shaping the future of fast food.

This is a full-time position offering competitive pay, with base salaries ranging from $21.25 to $23.65 per hour, plus eligibility for digital tips. Additional benefits include tuition assistance covering 100% of select degrees or up to $5,250 annually, free food, medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, and career advancement opportunities with 80% of managers having started as crew. Chipotle prides itself on supporting its employees’ growth while cultivating an inclusive culture where diversity and equity are prioritized. If you are passionate about food quality, customer service, leadership development, and teamwork, this role offers a fulfilling career path at a company dedicated to real food and real values.
