Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a leading fast-casual restaurant chain known for cultivating a better world through responsibly sourced, classically cooked, and real food made from wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Established as a pioneering brand in the food industry, Chipotle operates a growing number of restaurants across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. Unlike many other restaurant companies of its size, Chipotle owns and operates all its locations in North America and Europe, which allows them to maintain consistent quality and uphold their mission of making better food accessible to everyone. Chipotle is deeply committed to sustainable business practices, continuous digital innovation, and fostering a culture that champions diversity, equity, and inclusion. This demonstrates its purpose of not only serving nutritious food but also hiring world-class individuals who contribute to shaping the future of fast food.

The opportunity as a Kitchen Leader at Chipotle is a dynamic role designed for individuals passionate about food quality, team development, and operational excellence. Kitchen Leaders are not just responsible for preparing great food; they play a vital role in driving the quality and safety standards that Chipotle is known for. This position involves training and mentoring crew members, ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly, maintaining equipment, and fostering a positive, supportive work environment. Kitchen Leaders uphold Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy by cooking meats, sautéing vegetables, managing inventory, and safeguarding the proper sanitation and organization of the kitchen space. The role requires someone with restaurant experience and a high school diploma, who is eager to learn and lead by example.

In this leadership position, Kitchen Leaders are the backbone of Chipotle’s kitchen operations. They are always actively engaged in meeting their station’s goals, assisting team members, and ensuring customers receive high-quality meals promptly. The role involves effective communication with both front-of-house and back-of-house teams to make sure service flows seamlessly. Safety and cleanliness are paramount, with the leader responsible for monitoring kitchen equipment, adhering to safety guidelines, filling out required documentation such as Material Safety Data Sheets, and following inventory rotation procedures.

Chipotle offers a highly competitive compensation package that includes tuition assistance, free meals during shifts, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance. The company also supports work-life balance through paid time off, holiday closures, and digital tips. Furthermore, Chipotle places a strong emphasis on internal growth, with 80 percent of managers having started their careers as crew members. This role is ideal for someone looking for upward mobility within a forward-thinking organization that blends fast-food efficiency with a mission-driven approach to food and community impact.
