Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain known for its commitment to cultivating a better world through responsibly sourced, freshly prepared food made from real ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Founded on the principles of food with integrity, Chipotle has set itself apart from typical fast-food concepts by offering a unique dining experience that emphasizes quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. With locations across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle is the only restaurant company of its size that owns and operates all its outlets in North America and Europe, showcasing strong operational control and a consistent customer experience.

Chipotle’s dedication to innovation is evident not only in its food offerings but also in its approach to digital technology and sustainable business practices. The company nurtures an inclusive culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion, making it an employer of choice for individuals at all levels of their careers. As a people-first organization rooted in core values, it strives to create a welcoming and supportive workplace where employees can grow and thrive.

The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle offers a dynamic opportunity for individuals passionate about food and leadership. As a Kitchen Leader, you will be central to preparing great meals by grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and ensuring every dish served meets Chipotle’s high standards for taste and quality. You will be entrusted with maintaining kitchen cleanliness, organization, and equipment upkeep, ensuring a smooth and safe operation every day. Beyond food preparation, this role involves managing inventory, minimizing food waste, and resolving quality-related concerns.

A significant part of the Kitchen Leader’s responsibilities is fostering a strong team dynamic by mentoring and training crew members to eventually become future leaders themselves. This role requires effective communication skills to coordinate efforts between the back of house and front of house teams, ultimately enhancing overall customer service and operational throughput. Being on your feet, tackling tasks proactively, and supporting teammates are hallmarks of this position.

Chipotle offers a competitive base salary ranging from $17.40 to $19.35 per hour, supplemented by digital tips, reflecting the company’s recognition of the important role Kitchen Leaders play. Additional benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, tuition assistance covering up to 100% for select degrees or up to $5,250 annually, free food, paid time off, holiday closures, and ample opportunities for career advancement. Notably, 80% of managers began as crew members, highlighting Chipotle’s commitment to internal growth and development.

Joining Chipotle as a Kitchen Leader means becoming part of a forward-thinking, socially responsible company dedicated to reshaping the fast-food industry by making better food accessible to everyone. This role offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to a mission beyond food, as Chipotle continues to learn, evolve, and drive change within the culinary landscape.
