The position of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle is a vital role that blends food preparation expertise with leadership responsibilities. As a Kitchen Leader, you will be instrumental in ensuring that each dish meets the high standards of taste, quality, and safety. You will learn how to expertly prepare foods, including grilling meats and sautéing vegetables, contributing to the overall customer experience in a way that is both efficient and enjoyable. Beyond cooking, the Kitchen Leader is responsible for maintaining the kitchen environment by ensuring cleanliness, organization, proper equipment maintenance, and adequate inventory levels. The Kitchen Leader plays a key role in training and developing crew members, preparing them to take on leadership roles in the future. You will support open communication between the front and back of house teams, ultimately contributing to a seamless operation that delights every customer. Safety and compliance with health regulations are a top priority, requiring you to oversee proper sanitation, monitor equipment condition, and complete all necessary documentation, including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO) processes. Job Duties

  • ensure food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
  • monitor food waste and inventory levels and resolve food quality issues
  • support a strong team dynamic between back of house crew and front of house crew
  • develop crew members to be future kitchen leaders
  • communicate with crew members and customers effectively to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • ensure the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • monitor kitchen equipment and ensure it is kept in good repair making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
  • ensure that the kitchen and all crew members meet necessary guidelines to avoid injuries or accidents
  • fill out material safety data sheets (MSDS) and inventory rotation (FIFO)
