The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle offers an exciting opportunity to learn culinary skills, including preparing meals, grilling meats, and sautéing vegetables, all while maintaining the high quality standards for which Chipotle is known. This position is hands-on and dynamic, requiring Kitchen Leaders to help oversee the kitchen’s cleanliness, organization, and inventory while maintaining equipment and promoting a safe working environment. As a Kitchen Leader, you take on responsibility beyond food preparation; you play an essential role in developing the next generation of leaders within the crew. You will train and support crew members to become future Kitchen Leaders, fostering a strong team dynamic between the kitchen and front of house. Effective communication with both teammates and customers is crucial for ensuring smooth operations and exceptional customer service. The role involves actively engaging throughout your shift, meeting station goals, and pitching in wherever help is needed. Job Duties

  • Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order, and following kitchen procedures
  • Monitoring food waste and inventory levels, and resolving food quality issues
  • Supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house Crew and front of house Crew
  • Developing Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders
  • Communicating with Crew members and customers effectively in order to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair
  • making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
  • Ensuring that the kitchen itself and all Crew members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
  • Filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
