We are currently seeking a Kitchen Leader to join our team at one of our DC Maman locations. This full-time, contract position is ideal for someone who is passionate about food and beverages and committed to excellent customer service. The right candidate is someone who loves cookies, enjoys supporting colleagues, and maintains a lighthearted attitude. As a Kitchen Leader, you will be responsible for fostering a collaborative and responsive environment within the back-of-house team. Your role will encompass various managerial tasks, including inventory management to ensure all ingredients are stocked for service, hiring and training new staff for smooth integration, and streamlining kitchen operations to maintain prompt service times. You will work closely with the Culinary Director to develop and maintain the restaurant menu and set consistent cleaning and sanitation standards for the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health regulations. Additionally, the Kitchen Leader will handle scheduling for kitchen staff and monitor kitchen finances to identify opportunities to reduce waste. This position requires experience in maintaining culinary and food safety standards, kitchen cleanliness, and strict adherence to all rules and regulations of the DC State Health Department to maintain an "A" grade. Training new team members and promoting a cooperative, efficient workflow are also key responsibilities. The role operates within a casual dining restaurant setting, requiring availability for 8 to 10 hour shifts, weekends, and holidays. Physical presence on location is mandatory to ensure hands-on leadership and operational excellence. Job Requirements
- Food handler certification
