As a Kitchen Leader, you will learn and master the preparation of delicious food items, including grilling meats and sautéing vegetables, while adhering strictly to Chipotle's Food With Integrity philosophy. The position requires responsibility for ensuring that the food served meets strict quality and safety standards every day. This includes overseeing kitchen operations such as maintaining cleanliness, organization, and stocking, as well as ensuring that equipment is well-maintained and in good working condition. The Kitchen Leader acts as a role model and mentor, training Crew members to become future Kitchen Leaders, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
Being a Kitchen Leader means actively supporting teamwork between back-of-house and front-of-house staff and communicating effectively to ensure excellent customer service and efficient operation throughput. You will also be responsible for monitoring food waste and inventory levels, addressing food quality issues promptly, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitary guidelines, including filling out necessary Material Safety Data Sheets and managing inventory rotation. This is a hands-on role that demands physical stamina, as you will be on your feet throughout your shift, multitasking and assisting teammates to achieve station goals and promote a culture of collaboration.
