As a kitchen leader at Chipotle, you will play a pivotal role in bringing the company’s Food With Integrity philosophy to life by ensuring every dish prepared meets their high standards of quality and safety. This position involves mastering culinary skills such as grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and preparing meals efficiently. You will be responsible for training and mentoring crew members, overseeing food inventory, and maintaining impeccable cleanliness and organization within the kitchen. The kitchen leader acts as a key role model, fostering teamwork between back-of-house and front-of-house crews while promoting a positive, safety-conscious environment. Beyond food preparation, this role provides opportunities to develop leadership qualities and advance within the company as many managers started their careers as kitchen leaders or crew members.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Previous restaurant experience
  • Ability to understand and articulate Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location
  • Ability to work on feet for extended periods
  • Ability to follow food quality and safety guidelines

  • Have a high school diploma
  • Have restaurant experience

Job Duties

  • Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
  • Monitoring food waste and inventory levels and resolving food quality issues
  • Supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house Crew and front of house Crew
  • Developing Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders
  • Communicating with Crew members and customers effectively in order to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair and making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
  • Ensuring that the kitchen itself and all Crew members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
  • Filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
