Job Description
Lighthouse Bar and Grill is a well-established dining establishment known for its vibrant atmosphere and dedication to delivering quality culinary experiences. We are currently seeking a reliable and skilled Lead Cook/Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient operation of our kitchen and the quality of our food offerings. The Lead Cook will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen activities, managing food preparation, and leading kitchen staff with a focus on maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. This position requires a flexible schedule, including the availability to work days, nights, and weekends, reflecting the varied hours typical within the restaurant industry.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise while managing kitchen operations. Duties include staffing the kitchen, overseeing inventory, minimizing waste, and ordering supplies in collaboration with management. You will also play an essential role in menu planning and the creation of new recipes that excite and engage our customers. The Lead Cook works closely with the General Manager to ensure that all kitchen activities comply with safety and operational standards.
The ideal candidate will have over three years of experience in a kitchen environment and demonstrate strong leadership skills to manage the kitchen team efficiently. A degree in Culinary Arts is preferred but not mandatory for candidates with substantial hands-on experience and proven culinary skills. The ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and remain calm under pressure is essential for success in this fast-paced environment.
Physical stamina is required, as the role involves standing and moving around the kitchen for prolonged periods along with handling food preparation tasks. Given the restaurant's busy nature, the Lead Cook must maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, and contribute to a positive team environment.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum three years of restaurant experience preferred
- clean background check
- reliable transportation
- physical ability to stand and move for extended periods
- willingness to work flexible schedules including nights and weekends
- capable of lifting up to 20 pounds safely
