Job Description

Our company is a well-established dining establishment located in Oakland, CA, known for its commitment to quality food and exceptional customer service. As a vibrant local eatery, we pride ourselves on creating a welcoming atmosphere where guests can enjoy delicious meals prepared with fresh ingredients and culinary expertise. We are dedicated to maintaining high standards in food quality, safety, and staff professionalism, making our kitchen operation a critical component of our overall success.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a non-exempt position offering a base wage starting at $20.00 per hour, with opportunities to earn an average total of approximately $24.00 per hour, including tip distribution. Please note that tip income is variable and contingent on sales volume and shift performance.

The Kitchen Manager will play an essential role in managing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen. This includes overseeing food preparation to ensure it meets our quality, consistency, and timely service standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and mentoring kitchen staff, maintaining inventory, reducing costs, and ensuring compliance with all relevant food safety and sanitation regulations, especially those pertinent to California laws. Additionally, this role involves enforcing health and safety policies, preparing for inspections, and fostering a positive and inclusive workplace environment that complies with state labor laws.

This leadership position requires an individual with strong organizational and communication skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a high-pressure kitchen setting. The Kitchen Manager will work closely with both the front-of-house team and upper management to ensure smooth operations, support menu changes, and meet catering demands as needed. This role demands physical stamina as well as the ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced and sometimes physically demanding kitchen environment.

If you are passionate about culinary excellence, employee development, and upholding rigorous safety standards, this role offers an excellent opportunity to grow within a reputable Oakland dining establishment. Join us in delivering outstanding food experiences while building a supportive and productive kitchen team.
