The Kitchen Lead role at CHOPT plays a pivotal part in supporting the restaurant’s operations by upholding the company’s stringent food safety and quality standards. This position requires an individual who can work collaboratively with the Back-of-House (BOH) team to execute efficient food preparation and ensure the timely setup of service lines. The Kitchen Lead will be involved in early opening shifts, prepping activities before management arrives, and maintaining portion control through daily grab tests, which are essential to consistency and cost management. Beyond operational responsibilities, the Kitchen Lead will provide valuable support to the General Manager in ordering, inventory control, and product receiving.
CHOPT’s Kitchen Leads are expected to lead by example and communicate effectively during Limited Time Offer (LTO) rollouts, ensuring the team is well-informed and prepared. This leadership role requires attention to detail, the ability to adapt to fast-changing priorities, and a proactive approach to solving issues as they arise. Physical demands of the job include standing for long periods and occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds, making stamina and manual dexterity important attributes for success. This role offers flexible scheduling with an emphasis on early morning hours and requires strong interpersonal skills to interact clearly with team members and customers.

- DOH/ServSafe certification and any required city/state food safety certifications
- Basic mathematical and quantitative skills
- Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
- Capability to occasionally move or transport items up to 30 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and work in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work flexible shifts and schedules, especially early morning hours

Job Duties
- Upholding and protecting CHOPT's food quality and food safety standards in the kitchen and on the line
- Initiating corrective actions with employees as needed
- Working alongside team members in the Back-of-House to execute successful food preparation and efficient set-up of the line before service
- Participating in early opening shift functions and initiating prep activities
- Managing portion control through daily grab tests and reporting results to management
- Providing support to the General Manager regarding ordering, receiving, inventory, and pars
- Leading and communicating pertinent food preparation information during Limited Time Offer roll-outs
