Job Description
Sunriver Brewing Company is a well-established, family-owned brewery and pub business that has been proudly serving Central Oregon since 2012. With a team of nearly 300 dedicated employees, the company operates three pubs and a brewery in Central Oregon, with an additional pub located in Eugene. Known for their commitment to crafting excellent craft beers, offering delicious food, and providing engaging service, Sunriver Brewing Company has carved out a respected place in the regional hospitality and brewing industry. Their establishments are popular destinations for locals and visitors alike, emphasizing a welcoming atmosphere that showcases the best of Central Oregon's brewing and culinary craftsmanship. They focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience paired with a strong company culture that values teamwork and quality.
The Kitchen Lead role at Sunriver Brewing Company's Sunriver Pub is an integral position within their kitchen team, responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and high-quality food preparation standards. This position offers a pay range from $22.00 to $24.00 per hour, with an additional average tip allocation ranging from $2 to $6 per hour, reflecting the importance of this leadership role in the day-to-day success of the pub's kitchen. The Kitchen Lead assists the head cook in preparing entrées and plays an essential role in coaching and advising line cooks, particularly regarding portion sizes and food safety standards such as proper temperature controls for food storage. This role also requires attendance at mandatory meetings and direct involvement in staff training to ensure all team members meet the company’s high operational standards.
Successful candidates for this position bring a passion for food, a strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment. Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills are essential, as the Kitchen Lead must effectively support both the kitchen and service teams, manage staffing schedules, handle employee breaks, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. The position demands a proactive, positive attitude and leadership by example, fostering a cooperative and respectful work culture that aligns with Sunriver Brewing Company’s values. The Kitchen Lead also fills in for the Sous Chef when needed, ensuring continuity in leadership and kitchen operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to advance in the culinary industry while working for a respected, community-focused brewing and dining company that values quality, teamwork, and employee well-being.
