The Music City Center, located in the heart of downtown Nashville, serves as the venue for this Culinary Receiver position. This expansive 2.1 million square foot convention center, opened in 2013, was designed to host large-scale city-wide conventions and aims to provide significant economic benefits to the greater Nashville region. The Culinary Receiver plays a vital role within Sodexo Live!’s operations at the Music City Center. This position involves managing the receiving, proper storage, rotation, and quality control of all culinary goods, ensuring that every product meets stringent standards for temperature and freshness. The role also requires meticulous maintenance and cleaning of all walk-in refrigerators and freezers, guaranteeing sanitation and compliance with food safety regulations. Candidates must be prepared for physical demands, including heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds and working in temperature-extreme environments.

Job Requirements
- Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors temperature extremes and excessive noise
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight
- Must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment
- Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years in a food preparation position
- Ability to promote and participate in a team environment
- Ability to understand written and oral direction and to communicate same with others
- Degree from a postsecondary culinary arts training program preferred
- ACF professional certification preferred
Job Duties
- Directly responsible for the receiving of goods including checking for proper storage temperature and quality of products
- Assists with inventory counting and organizing storage areas and freezers
- Assist Executive Chef/Sous Chef in maintaining par levels of cleaning and sanitation supplies by performing regular and monthly inventories
- Inspects all kitchens for compliance and reports issues to Executive Chef/Sous Chefs
- Monitors and reports any safety sanitation or food handling concerns to supervisors immediately
- Observes and communicates with Executive Chef and Sous Chefs regarding food storage and sanitation issues
- Assists all staff with production for daily menus and rotates product
- Responsible for the preparation of various food products on an as needed basis
- Performs general cleaning while maintaining kitchen sanitation on a daily basis
- Covers labels dates and stores all food ensuring unused portions are utilized in a logical manner
- Posts temperature charts for the week in all kitchens filing charts and noting discrepancies
- Performs closing procedures to ensure that sanitation and storage standards are maintained and that all storage areas are secure
- Follow and completes daily sanitation schedule
- Complies with established uniform standards and practices good personal hygiene
- Complies with all department and facility policies and procedures
- Attends all mandatory meetings and in-services
- Interacts with residents and co-workers in a positive manner
- Works as a productive member of the team
- Contributes to a positive healthy and safe work environment
- Accepts change in a positive manner
- Functions under intense time pressure
- Performs any other relative relevant duties as assigned
