The company prides itself on its Atrium SPIRIT values — Service, Perseverance, Inclusion, Respect, Innovation, and Teamwork — which guide every aspect of its operations and contribute to its status as a preferred employer within the hospitality industry.
The Des Moines Sheraton, located at 1800 50th Street, West Des Moines, IA, is one of the notable properties under the Atrium Hospitality umbrella. This full-service hotel offers a wide range of amenities to its guests, including modern accommodations, meeting spaces, and dining options. Employing cutting-edge hospitality standards and a guest-centric approach, the hotel ensures a memorable stay for visitors while promoting career growth opportunities for its staff.
This full-time position at the Des Moines Sheraton offers a competitive compensation range of $15.50 to $16.28 per hour, with actual pay dependent on experience, skills, qualifications, and the specific location. Besides wage benefits, employees are provided with comprehensive health coverage inclusive of medical, dental, and vision insurance plans. The position also offers a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off and vacation benefits, as well as exclusive Atrium Traveler and brand discounts for leisure and travel.
The role focuses on supporting the kitchen and food service teams to maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized environment. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, prep areas, storage spaces, wash stations, and managing trash and recycling operations. The position requires assisting with event setup and breakdown, and occasionally helping with food service. Working hours offer flexibility, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, accommodating diverse scheduling needs. No prior experience is required, making this an ideal opportunity for entry-level candidates eager to learn and grow within the company’s robust training framework. The food safety certificate is preferred or can be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
Atrium Hospitality emphasizes career advancement, with 40% of their management hires promoted internally. Additionally, employees benefit from wellness programs, tuition reimbursement, community service involvement, and exclusive discounts on popular brands. The company’s commitment to an inclusive and supportive workplace is consistently reflected in positive staff testimonials, reinforcing its position as an employer that values every team member's contributions and fosters mutual respect.
